Culligan’s new facility in Technopark, Dubai opened for business on 1st February this year. This 10,000m2 site is a purpose-built, integrated manufacturing, sales and service centre. The scale of the site is a clear sign of the extent that the Culligan business has grown in recent years and our ambitions for future growth.The ground-breaking ceremony was held on 13th May 2012 and the local management team have managed the project themselves to ensure that the facility meets the needs of the business and the project is brought in on budget.
Technopark is situated on the Southern edge of Dubai, close to Jebel Ali port, Al Maktoum International Airport, the planned site for the Dubai Expo 2020 venue, two trans-emirate highways and the proposed site of the South Dubai terminal of the Etihad rail network, which links all of the five GCC countries – The Kingdom of Bahrain, The State of Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and UAE.
TechnoPark is being built on 21 million square meters of land, and will house 60,000 permanent residents and employ over 133,000 people. Technopark’s vision is to lead Dubai technological development strategy by providing the appropriate environment that would attract and enhance direct investment in manufacturing and research and development in the specific strategic areas, Water, Health, Energy, Engineering, and Logistics/ Mobility.
In addition to expanding Culligan Middle East’s manufacturing capability from bottled water to include chemical blending and equipment fabrication, the new facility has brought together stores and logistics into a single location for the first time. A purpose-built docking bay allows containers to be loaded and undloaded quickly, safely and efficiently.
